About Gooddrop
UK-based Gooddrop is a well-resourced Agtech to Retail start-up in an excellent position to complete the multi-phase approach we have adopted to launch the business to consumers.
Gooddrop's main research partner is the University of Nottingham, which has the largest group of internationally recognised plant and crop scientists in the UK university sector.
Founded to provide the retail sector with an entirely manageable solution to issues of sustainability in cotton farming, Gooddrop has a simple philosophy: 'Be honest, be transparent'.
Using our R&D lab at the University of Nottingham, we continue to developed innovative approaches and technology to growing cotton, which will allow us to mitigate against the problems of growing cotton, one of the most, invasive, environmentally harmful commodity crops, with its excessive herbicide and pesticide use, superfluous water consumption and land use degradation.
At the final stage of its growth, these cotton plants at our research centre, display fully mature bolls, ready for harvest. Carefully cultivated, the fibres are now ready for collection, representing the culmination of a successful growth cycle.
At the boll development stage, this cotton plant is carefully nurtured in a controlled lab environment. The protective green casing surrounds the developing cotton fibers, preparing for the next phase of growth.
We believe we can revolutionise the cotton sector by perfecting the growing of cotton in controlled indoor environments using proprietary technology that can be deployed away from traditional farmlands within existing or new buildings adjacent to the cotton production industry.
Our ambition is to enable the re-wilding the global cotton field which would make an enormous contribution to the efforts of climate change reversal. The methods we are perfecting will make such an opportunity possible.
We intend to make our methods available to cotton product retailers and brands, enabling them to grow their own, elevating their sustainability objectives in their cotton supply chain, addressing the areas that they presently struggle to control.
Here at Gooddrop we believe we have potential to be the global cotton market disruptor, par excellence.
